Can Frutal

Five minutes by car from Cala Jondal and Porroig, Can Frutal is a rural villa at Es Torrent, wrapped in mature, carefully planted gardens. Tropical planting mixes with Ibizan species, fruit trees and a herb garden, and every morning the resident hens provide fresh eggs for breakfast.

It is a house that makes you want to stay put. Yoga on the covered deck, a swim in the saltwater pool, a long lunch at the outdoor table, then the sauna and the ice bath before an evening drink on the roof terrace as the light fades.

A Miele kitchen built for hosting

Inside, life centres on an open-plan kitchen and dining area fitted with Miele appliances, a steam oven, several fridges and a coffee machine, all set up to cook for a crowd with ease. The long dining table indoors has a twin outside for summer dinners. Sonos sound runs through the house, and there is a Smart TV and satellite TV.

Every bedroom has air conditioning, and for cooler months there are wood-burning stoves, underfloor heating and central heating. A full laundry room and solar electricity make the stay both comfortable and lighter on the island.

Pool, sauna and wellbeing among the gardens

The pool, filled with salt and natural spring water, can be heated on request, and there is a separate plunge pool for a quick cool-down. The newest additions are an outdoor sauna, an ice bath and a covered yoga deck. An outdoor kitchen, a bar, a barbecue and several chill-out corners complete a garden designed for spending the whole day outside. From the upper floor and two of the terraces, the sea shows in the distance.

The gardens are the soul of the place. Front and back lawns give children room to run, the fruit trees and the herb garden bring flavour to the kitchen, and shaded chill-out corners spread through the grounds mean there is always somewhere new to sit with a book or a glass of wine as the afternoon cools.

Children, pets and celebrations welcome

Children have a play area, table tennis and mountain bikes, not to mention the goats and hens. Pets are welcome too. The grounds are fenced, with an electric gate, an alarm and generous parking, and there is even a helicopter pad. Events, weddings, filming and retreats are possible by prior arrangement.
