The north
San Lorenzo is a hamlet with a whitewashed church, a bar, and hills in every direction. The roads up here are narrow and empty, the land is terraced rather than flat, and the houses are set into slopes with long views over nothing much — which is exactly what people come for.
Portinatx, on the coast, is the north's swimming: small coves with water that stays cold longer into the spring. The whole area has the darkest skies on the island, and on a clear night that is a genuine difference rather than a line in a brochure.
Who this side suits
People who have been to Ibiza before and want the version of it that existed before the rest. It is about thirty to thirty-five minutes to the airport and a similar drive to the old town, so the car is not optional and dinner is a decision rather than an impulse.
It suits a slow week: long lunches at the house, one outing a day, and the road down to the coast in the late afternoon. If the group wants to be out every night, the Ibiza Town side is the honest recommendation and we will make it.
