The town side
Cap Martinet is the headland east of Ibiza Town: houses stepped down towards the water, most of them looking back across the water at Dalt Vila lit up after dark. Talamanca is the long beach below it, shallow and calm, with a walk around the marina into the old town. Jesús, just inland, is the village people actually use (bakery, butcher, the shop you forgot you needed), and Can Furnet and Roca Llisa sit behind gates above it.
This is the only part of the island where a house, dinner and the old town are all within a few minutes of each other.
Who this side suits
It suits people who intend to go out. Marina Botafoch and the restaurants around it are a short drive, the old town is walkable from parts of Talamanca, and taxis actually exist here in a way they do not in the countryside.
It also suits mixed groups: the view and the swim are at the house, and whoever wants a late night does not need the whole party to move. If the point of the week is to see nobody, this is the wrong side of the island and we will tell you so.

Can you walk to Ibiza Town from Cap Martinet?
From parts of Talamanca, yes, along the marina into the old town. From the houses higher up on Cap Martinet it is a short taxi ride, and taxis are easier to find on this side than anywhere else on the island.
How far is Cap Martinet from the airport?
About fifteen to twenty minutes, depending on the time of day. Marina Botafoch and Dalt Vila are a few minutes from the house.
Does this side suit a group that wants different things?
Yes. The view and the swim are at the house, and whoever wants a late night in town does not need the whole party to move. If the point of the week is to see nobody, the north or the countryside will suit it better.

Talamanca, the long and shallow beach below the headland, is a few minutes from the houses. S'Estanyol and Cala Olivera are small rocky calas on the other side, and most guests here swim at the house and take the boat for the rest.
Is this the best side of Ibiza for a boat day?
It is the closest. Marina Botafoch, where most of the fleet is moored, is a few minutes from the house, so a day at sea starts without a drive. Formentera is about thirty-five minutes by boat. Skipper and insurance are included; fuel is charged at cost at the end of the day.
