Villa Jesus

Villa Jesus occupies the upper floor of a villa in Jesús, and everything about it revolves around one feature: a wide, partly covered terrace that looks straight across to Dalt Vila. By day the view runs over green countryside, the rooftops of the town and the sea; after dark, with the old town lit up, it becomes a memorable place to have dinner.

Mornings start with coffee at the breakfast table outside and a swim in the pool below, followed by a slow decision about whether to head down to Talamanca or stay put under the awning. Evenings belong to the terrace again: something on the barbecue, music playing, the sun going down in the west and the lights of Ibiza Town coming on one by one.

The terrace and the view

The terrace is the real living room of the house. Part of it is covered, so there is shade when the midday sun is high, and it is furnished for actual use: a lounge corner for long conversations, two sunbeds and a table for breakfast or a late supper. From here the view takes in Dalt Vila, the old town of Ibiza, the sea and the fields around Jesús. It changes with every hour, and it is at its most striking at night.

Interiors scaled for two

Inside, the layout is simple and generous. A spacious living room opens onto an open kitchen with a dining area, fully fitted for anyone who enjoys cooking with produce from the village bakery and shops. The double bedroom is air-conditioned and sits beside a shower room, while wifi, a smart TV and a music system cover the quieter evenings. The house is sized for a couple, or a couple travelling with a child, and that intimacy is precisely its appeal.

Pool, garden and arrival

Below the terrace, the pool is framed by a wide deck with sunloungers, an awning for an afternoon siesta in the shade and an outdoor shower. A Mediterranean garden surrounds it, the whole property is fenced, and parking is inside the grounds, reached by a driveway with an electric gate. Throughout your stay, the terraces and the pool are for your use alone.

Jesús, Talamanca and Ibiza Town

Jesús is a proper village with a supermarket, a bakery and several restaurants, among them Bon Lloc, known locally for its tapas and set lunch menus. The centre of Ibiza Town is about ten minutes away and Talamanca beach about three kilometres. From Marina Botafoc, next to Talamanca, a water taxi crosses the harbour to the old town, and golfers will find the course at Roca Llisa around ten minutes by car.
