Ca'na Calma

Ca'na Calma sits on a gentle hill between Santa Eulalia and San Carlos, on the eastern side of Ibiza, with views sweeping some 180 degrees across the Mediterranean and the countryside around it. Refurbished by Blakstad Architects, it keeps the soul of a traditional Ibicencan finca while giving every room a generous sense of space.

It is a house made for slow, sociable days. An early swim before breakfast, the sauna in the late afternoon, the jacuzzi as the light softens, then dinner on the covered terrace while the planting glows under the evening lights and the sea turns blue-grey in the distance.

Inside the finca

The open-plan lounge flows into a large dining area that looks straight out to the pool. The kitchen is professional grade and fully fitted, ready for anything from a family breakfast to a dinner party, and the house has four dining areas in all, two inside and two out, so there is always a table to suit the moment. A fireplace, underfloor heating and air conditioning keep things comfortable in every season.

The bedrooms are thoughtfully presented, and the principal bedroom is a spacious room that takes in the sea and the landscape at once. There are enough corners, indoors and out, for everyone to find a quiet spot of their own, even with a full house.

Terraces, pool, jacuzzi and sauna

Outside, extensive terraces balance full sun with deep shade. The swimming pool is large and lined with sun loungers, joined by an outdoor jacuzzi and a sauna and steam room. The terraces are richly planted and lit at night, and the barbecue sits beside a large covered dining area made for long evenings. There is lawn to play on and a dedicated children's play area, and the grounds are fenced and gated with private parking.

Care and a light footprint

A house manager looks after the property throughout your stay and handles the day-to-day details. The villa runs on solar electricity and its own water supply, which sits well with its natural setting. Pets are welcome.

The countryside of Santa Eulalia and San Carlos

This corner of Ibiza is known as its most natural: country lanes for walking and cycling, pine-covered hills and a string of sandy beaches within a short drive. Santa Eulalia, San Carlos and Santa Gertrudis are each a few minutes away for restaurants, cafés and shops. The area has long been a favourite with families and yoga groups, and the house has the room and the calm to host them: an early session on the terrace, then breakfast in the shade. A hire car is recommended.
