Villa Lydia

Surrounded by green woodland in the countryside near Cala Bassa, in the south-west of Ibiza, Villa Lydia is a modern house turned squarely towards the sea and the sunset. Clean architecture, an infinity pool and a covered terrace built for long dinners: everything here is designed around the end of the day.

The beaches of Cala Bassa and Cala Conta are close by, and a quiet spot on the coast is just a few minutes from the house on foot. Afternoons pass between the sea and the pool; then, as the sun lowers over the water, everyone drifts to the terrace, the barbecue is lit and the sky takes over.

Contemporary interiors

Inside, clean lines and bold blocks of contemporary colour stand out against bright white walls. Polished white cement floors run through the whole house, from the living spaces to the terraces and every bedroom, which gives it a calm, continuous feel. The open-plan dining and living rooms lead straight out to the terrace and pool, and the spacious, fully equipped kitchen opens onto the covered outdoor dining area. Air conditioning, wifi, satellite TV and a music system take care of comfort, and a dedicated office space is on hand for anyone who needs to work.

How the suites are arranged

Every bedroom is a suite. Several are spread across the two main floors of the villa and enjoy panoramic views, while the others sit on a lower garden level with their own private entrance. Part of the villa yet independent of the shared living areas, these garden suites are a natural fit for friends, grown-up children or a second family who value a little autonomy.

Infinity pool and sunset terrace

The grounds are where the house really shows its character. The infinity pool is lined with sunloungers and looks straight out to sea. Beside it, a purpose-built covered dining space with a barbecue sits alongside generous chill-out sofas, all facing the sunset. Lunch here runs into the afternoon, and dinner begins when the sky turns orange.

Cala Bassa and Cala Conta

Cala Bassa and Cala Conta are both close to the villa. The grounds are fenced, with an alarm and private parking, there is a safe in the house, and a hire car is recommended for exploring the coast. Back at the house, the woodland all around gives the setting its sense of retreat. The villa suits families, groups of friends and honeymooners alike.
