Villa Klara

Villa Klara is a family house in the countryside between Porroig and Es Cubells, in the San José area of Ibiza's south-west coast. It is set in several acres of landscaped gardens, with the sea in one direction and open country in the other, and it is the kind of place where children disappear into the garden after breakfast and only resurface when lunch is on the table.

The days take care of themselves. A swim before the heat builds, a table tennis tournament, a session in the gym or the yoga area, then a long lunch in the shade and a slow afternoon by the pool. When evening comes, the terrace is set for dinner, the barbecue is lit and the stars come out over the garden.

Light-filled interiors

Inside, the house is bright and calm: pale tiles, white walls and crisp linen, neutral furnishings and artworks, lifted by touches of sunny yellow. Air conditioning, ceiling fans, central heating and a fireplace keep it comfortable in every season, and satellite TV and a music system are there for quieter evenings.

How the bedrooms are arranged

The principal bedroom sits in the main part of the villa with its own en-suite bathroom, next to a children's room with single beds and a bathroom, so parents and younger children stay close. The other bedrooms are on the lower level: doubles and twins, each with an en-suite bathroom and its own independent entrance. Grandparents, teenagers or friends get real independence and can come and go without passing through the main house.

A garden built for play

The grounds are designed for every age. There is a tree house, a large play area with climbing frames, swings and a wooden playhouse, a trampoline, an oversized draughts set, a pétanque court and a table tennis table, plus a play area for younger children indoors. For the adults, a fully equipped gym and a yoga area make it easy to keep a routine. Everything sits within gated, fenced grounds.

Pools, terraces and outdoor dining

The main pool is joined by a separate outdoor jacuzzi and a solar-heated children's pool, all surrounded by sunloungers, terraces and soft chill-out seating. A Balinese gazebo offers shade for an afternoon read, the covered dining area looks out over the gardens, and the outdoor kitchen with barbecue turns every evening into a dinner party. The main terrace, with its wide views across the landscape, is where most days end. Events can be considered by arrangement with the owner.
