Villa Meghan

Villa Meghan stands in the San José area of Ibiza, looking out over the south-east of the island. From the terraces the view runs across the Mediterranean to Formentera, takes in the salt flats of Las Salinas, the long sweep of Playa d'en Bossa and the headland of Cap des Falcó, then turns inland to open countryside. After dark the lights of town come on in the distance; at dawn the sun rises straight into view.

The house has live-in staff. The days belong to the pool, the gardens and the long table on the upper terrace, where lunch drifts into the late afternoon and dinner comes off the barbecue with the sea still in sight.

Main house, guest house and a light-filled gym

Inside, the main living area is cool and calm: white walls, polished concrete floors and soft, inviting furnishings. The contemporary kitchen is fully fitted, and a formal dining room looks onto a hacienda-style courtyard, a more intimate setting for dinners indoors.

The bedrooms are divided between the main house, where each has its own en-suite bathroom, and a separate guest house whose bedrooms share a bathroom, a natural arrangement for older children or friends who like a door of their own across the garden. A light-filled gym gives the morning a routine, and air conditioning and central heating keep the house comfortable in high summer and in the softer months either side.

Pool, palm gardens and the upper terrace

The freshwater pool sits on white terraces with soft lounge seating and sunloungers around it. Beyond it the grounds open into fragrant, palm-filled gardens, lawns and shaded courtyards, so there is always a cooler corner for a book or a siesta. Closer to the house, the upper terrace holds the dining table and the barbecue, with the sea directly ahead, and an outdoor music system carries the evening.

Gated and fenced, with an alarm and private parking, the property keeps its privacy while staying open to the view. A hire car is recommended.

Families, friends and celebrations

Villa Meghan works for families, groups of friends and couples, honeymooners included, who want space. It is also suitable for weddings, with the lawns and terraces giving a celebration room to breathe.
