Villa Paradis

Villa Paradis is an Ibizan finca of more than two hundred years, restored and furnished with antique pieces brought from India, Nepal, Tibet and Africa. It stands on an east-facing hillside above the valley of Santa Gertrudis, looking over almond and olive fields towards the pine woods, and the original finca kitchen still keeps its old chimney.

The village is close enough to walk to: about ten minutes on foot, or three by car, for breakfast in the square or dinner at one of its restaurants.

The old house and the rooms around it

Some of the bedrooms are in the old finca; the rest are guest rooms set around the grounds, each with its own entrance and its own bathroom, and no way through to the main house. It is a layout that suits a group of friends or several families travelling together: everyone shares the pool and the table, and everyone has a door to close.

The main living room and open kitchen sit in a separate building between the finca and the pool. Glazed on three sides, it keeps the valley and the water in view while someone cooks, and it is where the group tends to gather in the evening. Wifi, Apple TV and a Sonos sound system take care of the practical side.

Salt-water pool, lawns and an outdoor bar

The salt-water pool lies on the lower part of the grounds, surrounded by lawn and loungers. Beside it, a covered chillout with sofas and floor cushions sits next to an outdoor bar, so a long afternoon by the water rarely needs a trip back to the house. There is a barbecue and room to eat outside.

An organic garden and fruit trees

The kitchen garden is organic, and the orange, lemon, clementine and apricot trees are picked in season, depending on when you come.

Practical details

The property is fenced, with private parking inside. Cleaning is included six days a week. The gardens can host weddings and events, subject to the owner's approval. Ibiza Town, Marina Botafoch and the airport are around fifteen to twenty minutes away by car, and most beaches between twenty and thirty.
