To rent a luxury villa in Ibiza, start with how you want the week to feel, then choose the area; the house follows. Some areas suit people who want to stay hidden, others suit people who want to be where things happen, and neither is better than the other. This guide gives you the criteria and real examples from our villa collection.
What does renting a luxury villa in Ibiza mean?
It means a whole house for your group, with a private pool and staff if you want them, instead of rooms in a hotel. Each of our listings shows its bedrooms and sleeping capacity. A licensed holiday home is limited to 6 bedrooms and 12 guests, however large the property is, so decide first how many of you there are.
Which area of Ibiza is best for a villa rental?
The most common mistake is choosing by the name of the area rather than by what you want from the week. We start with two questions: do you want the week to happen inside the house or outside it, and how much do you want to drive?
- Cala Jondal and around (San José). One of the most exclusive parts of the island, high-profile and discreet. Can Vista Cala Jondal is a contemporary villa with sea views and a gym, and Villa Nia adds a tennis court and views over the cala; both have 5 bedrooms and sleep 10.
- Cala Salada, Cala Conta and Cala Bassa (west coast). For those who want the cala close by and sunset as the plan. Can Savasana is a restored finca above Cala Salada with private access to the cala, and Villa Lydia is a modern villa with an infinity pool near Cala Bassa, with 6 bedrooms for 12 guests.
- Cap Martinet, Talamanca and JesĂşs (next to Ibiza Town). For dinners in town and a few minutes back home. Villa Allison and Can Nemo are in Cap Martinet with sea views, and both have 6 bedrooms and sleep 12.
- San Lorenzo, Santa Gertrudis and Santa Eulalia (countryside and north-east). Pine woods and fincas, for an unhurried week. Finca Utopia is a three-century-old finca with a club in a cave, in San Lorenzo, and Villa Mariola has a 20-metre lap pool near Santa Eulalia.
None of these areas beats the others. Some are for staying tucked away, others for being close to the action; it is a question of how the week is lived. For more detail on the calas, see our guide to the calas.
What should you check in a villa before booking?
- Real bedrooms and capacity. Count people, not beds, and check each couple or family has its own space.
- The pool and outdoor space. In Ibiza you live outside: terrace, shade, sun deck. Look at photos of the house in use, not just the interiors.
- Service. Chef, cleaning, live-in staff: ask what comes with the house and what is optional, and get it in writing.
- The conditions. Minimum stay, deposit, check-in and check-out times. Each villa page lists them.
- The full cost. See what the rate includes and what is paid separately. We explain what drives it in what sets the price of a luxury villa.
When should you book?
As early as you can if you want a specific house in the most requested weeks: the best villas are decided months ahead. With flexible dates you have more to choose from. We go through timings in when to book a luxury villa in Ibiza.
What if we are more than 12, or want a boat?
If your group is larger than 12, it is not a problem: a licensed house takes up to 12, and we suggest two nearby villas or a property from our private collection, which we show on request. If you want to add a day on the water, our yachts come with a professional skipper and insurance; fuel is not included and is settled at cost, with no mark-up, at the end of the day, and we give you a realistic figure for your route before you commit.
